About Joe

It is about me, Dr. D.Joseph Anbarasu

Ask the Lord to bless your plans, and you will be successful in carrying them out.

My name is Dr. D. Joseph Anbarasu. At present, I am working as a Reader in Department of Commerce of Bishop Heber College at Tiruchirappalli. I received my B.Com, M.Com, and M.Phil Degrees from H.H.The Rajahs College, Pudukkottai. (My teachers from the same college have now become Joint-directors and Directors of Collegiate Education of Tamil Nadu State.)
I started my career as Post-graduate Teacher in Methodist Girls Higher Secondary School, Tiruchirappalli. It was in 1981 and 1982. Before that, I was  a part-time teacher to the Higher Secondary students of a Government Higher Secondary School in 1979 and 1980 when I was doing my post-graduation. These experiences motivated me to choose my career as teacher.
I started teaching to the under-graduate students in 1983. This chance was given to me through (late) Mrs. Suguna Swamiraj, my mentor and the Headmistress of Methodist Higher Secondary School. Then the degree offered by Bishop Heber college was B.A (Corporate Secretaryship).
I struggled initially to manage the class but then I was motivated by an able Principal and my colleagues in the Department.
I was serving as sub-warden and deputy-warden of all hostels in the same college between 1986 and 2001. If I say that I posses leadership qualities, that is because of opportunities I had from these hostels.
It has been a pleasant experiences for me to co-ordinate the study centre of IGNOU at Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirappalli.  It has helped me to understand how unreached masses of India could be reached through Open Learning System. I have registered myself as a candidate for pursuing PDD in Distance Learning (Evaluation System).
Many people surprised when I was elected to the syndicate of Bharathidasan University. It was totally a different experience. I  had lot of opportunities to work with eminent academicians and educationalists of this part of the country during this period.
I am interested in teaching Finance, Statistics and Economics of Education.
I am married with three children. My wife is a Lecturer of English in Cauvery College for Women in Trichy.
I just want to share two major but sad events happened in my life in 2003. My father died on 14th March 2003. My loving wife passed away on 26th August 2003.
